Privacy and data use
Updated September 24, 2026
TurfBot is operated by Service Bots LLC. Contact admin@turfbotai.com about this service or a privacy request. TurfBot helps collect lawn-care questions and requests for follow-up. Share only information needed for your lawn inquiry.
What you share
In an active chat, your messages and optional photos may be sent to OpenAI to generate educational answers and preliminary observations, including before you choose follow-up. The follow-up permission controls sending a request to the business; it does not prevent AI processing of ordinary chat. When you deliberately request follow-up and give permission, your contact details, lawn information, and optional photo are shared with TurfBot so its team can respond. This does not subscribe you to unrelated marketing.
How the service works
The service uses Vercel for hosting, OpenAI for AI processing, a configured database provider for request storage, and Resend for email delivery. These providers process information needed to operate the service. Operational records help track delivery and service quality. A lawn photo may contain personal details; avoid uploading faces, license plates, or documents.
On your device
Cookies and browser-storage details
Text chat history and a session identifier are stored in your browser with a 24-hour validity period after each save. Expired entries are removed when the widget next reads them; closing the browser does not itself erase them. Photos are kept in memory in the current chat session and are not saved in browser history storage. A newly submitted photo is processed for preliminary observations. It may be sent again with a permitted follow-up request. Use Remove photo from future requests to exclude the retained photo from later submissions; this does not undo processing or delete a request already sent. Use Clear in the chat to remove the displayed text history and reset the session. Clearing the chat does not delete a request already sent to the provider. For abuse prevention on our supported hosting platform, short-lived counters use a daily keyed hash of the network address; raw network addresses are not saved in these counters.
Stored requests and your choices
In a configured live pilot, saved follow-up requests and attached photos expire from the service storage 30 days after capture. They are retained during that period for delivery and the pilot review. This storage expiry does not erase copies already delivered by email or copies retained in provider logs, backups, or the business's records. The participating business controls its own inbox and business records. Contact admin@turfbotai.com or the participating business to request access, correction or deletion; identity and the relevant records may need to be verified.
Lawn guidance
TurfBot provides general turf education and collects context for technician review. AI answers and photo observations may be incorrect. The core guidance is primarily based on North Carolina and South Carolina references, and local conditions matter. TurfBot does not confirm a lawn diagnosis or select products, active ingredients or a treatment plan. Your selected town helps route the request to an approved area inbox, or to a dispatcher when no clear match exists. Staff confirms coverage, assignment, diagnosis, treatment, price, and appointments.
